Ergonomics and physical workload in the workplace

The recording will soon be updated with Swedish and English subtitles.

How can we create better conditions for a sustainable working life when work involves physically demanding tasks? In this webinar, managers and HR professionals will gain insights into how they can work preventively to reduce the risk of work-related musculoskeletal disorders while also strengthening the work environment in their organisation.

Discomfort is rarely caused by a single movement. More often, it is about the bigger picture: physical workload, time, recovery and variation. It is rarely the body that cannot cope – rather, the way work is designed needs to become more sustainable over time.

During this webinar, we will discuss:

  • Common risk factors in jobs involving manual handling
  • How physical workload ergonomics affects health, wellbeing and long-term work ability
  • How clear procedures, responsibilities and ways of working can prevent musculoskeletal problems
  • Success factors that contribute to a work environment where physical strain is identified and taken seriously at an early stage

We will also highlight how you as an employer can work more systematically to identify risks at an early stage and strengthen preventive occupational health and safety efforts.

The webinar is aimed at managers and HR professionals working in organisations where employees handle, lift, move or perform repetitive physical tasks as part of their daily work.

Inspections by the Swedish work wnvironment authority

The Swedish work environment authority is currently inspecting how employers prevent work-related musculoskeletal problems. The inspections are being carried out throughout Sweden between May 2026 and April 2027. This makes it particularly important to have structured and preventive occupational health and safety practices in place.
