Testing for alcohol and drug influence
OrderWhat it is
In case of suspected alcohol or drug influence at work, your employee can be given an appointment for testing on the same day. You will come together to Falck's clinic.
Before the visit:
- Fluid intake should be avoided.
- The employee needs to bring valid photo ID.
If there is suspicion of alcohol or drug issues, but not of current influence during work hours, the service "Assessment for Clarification of Use" is recommended instead.
To clarify the extent of alcohol or drug issues and the need for support, an assessment is necessary; a single test is not sufficient.
Consider in advance how you as an employer will handle the results and what the next steps might be.
Rely on your routines and alcohol and drug policy for how to act as an employer in case of suspected influence. A clear and written policy is crucial for addressing alcohol problems in the workplace.
How it works
- Order service
Fill out the form. You will receive an answer within two hours with a time when you and your employee can visit the clinic. - Visit
You and your employee will meet an occupational health nurse who will carry out sampling. - Feedback
An answer to alcohol in exhaled air is obtained immediately. Drug tests (urine or saliva samples) and blood samples for alcohol markers are analyzed at another laboratory, the results come within about a week. At the time of sampling, a telephone appointment is booked with a doctor for feedback on alcohol markers. Negative drug tests are answered by the occupational health nurse and positive drug tests by Falck's special MRO doctor.
