Targeted study Pilots
The service includes statutory health examination Seafarers complete examination (Manila) with extended sampling.
A complete examination must be carried out of seafarers in accordance with the Muster Act (1983:929) or the Ship Safety Ordinance (2003:438) who are on unlimited voyages (worldwide) and on limited voyages (Europe). A complete examination must also be carried out if you as an employer assess that an extra examination should be carried out due to illness or other factors that affect your ability.

- General survey
- Investigation of the possible presence of tuberculosis
- Sampling (blood sugar, cholesterol, blood pressure, BMI)
- Eyesight
- Hearing
- Occupational ECG (performed on a separate occasion by a subcontractor to Falck or at Falck's unit at Arlanda)
The service must be performed
- Before employment
- From the age of 40, the opportunity for a targeted health examination is offered every two years
- From 50 years mandatory every two years
- From 60 years mandatory
This is how it works
- Request service
Once you have ordered the service, an appointment will be booked for the health examination. The time will be notified by email. - Visit
Visits to the occupational health nurse and occupational health doctor. - Feedback
The Manila certificate and serviceability assessment are submitted to you as an employee.
The fit for service assessment is based on:
- The person examined does not have any illness that can be assumed to endanger the health or safety of others on board.
- The person who has been examined in the doctor's opinion does not have any illness that can be assumed to be aggravated by, or render him or her unfit for service at sea.
- The person meets the requirements for visual and auditory ability that apply to the intended service, according to the doctor's assessment.
