Statutory Health Examination – Seafarers complete examination
A medical examination that meets the legal requirements of the Muster Act (1983:929) or the Ship Safety Ordinance (2003:438) and that is aimed at seafarers on unlimited voyages (worldwide) and on limited voyages (Europe).
What the position entails
Statutory Survey - Seafarers, full survey is done to reduce health risks to seafarers working on unlimited speed (worldwide) and on limited speed (Europe).
After the examination has been carried out, we will provide feedback with a manila certificate and a serviceability assessment. The fitness assessment is based on the doctor's assessment that you do not have any illness that can be assumed to endanger the health or safety of others on board. You should not have any illness that could be aggravated by, or render you unfit for, service at sea. You must also meet the requirements for visual and auditory abilities that apply to the intended service.
How it works
- Request service
Once you have ordered the service, you will be booked in for a health check. The time is announced in a text message.
- Visit
During the visit, a general examination is carried out with a health declaration, an eye examination, a hearing examination, an examination of the possible presence of tuberculosis.
- Feedback
The Manila certificate and serviceability assessment are submitted to the employee.
Information for you as an employee
- Bring any glasses prescriptions/optometrist's certificates and/or hearing aids.
For the survey, the employee needs to state the position on board:
- Group 1: Deck Commander, mate, helmsman, lookout, member of the safety crew and member of the deck department.
- Group 2a: Tyres Other personnel in the tyre department who are not part of Group 1.
- Group 2b: Machinery, Mechanical personnel.
- Group 3: Campus management/other Other staff.
- Group 4: Radiotelephony personnel Radio personnel responsible for GMDSS.
