Here you can book a visit with Falck for bloodborne infection testing, known as a 0-sample.
Sharps injuries and blood splashes in the eyes and mucous membranes can pose a risk of transmitting primarily hepatitis B and C viruses, as well as HIV. In the event of a sharps or cut injury, vaccination against hepatitis B may be necessary within 48 hours.
In the case of an HIV incident, you should immediately and directly contact the Infectious Diseases Clinic or the infectious disease on-call service for a specialist assessment on further management.
For Hepatitis B risk, if the employee has previously been vaccinated with a satisfactory response, no further action is needed. Despite this, a booster dose is often given in cases of high infection risk. It may also be relevant if the vaccination result is unknown.
Follow-up can be done after 2 months depending on the infection risk.
