Cadmium Biological Exposure Control

Order

Medical check-up for cadmium biological exposure is an important service to ensure that employees exposed to cadmium in the workplace are not subjected to health risks. This service includes sampling to monitor cadmium levels in the blood and ensure they remain within safe limits and comply with legal requirements according to AFS 2023:15.

What it is

Medical check-up for cadmium biological exposure is conducted to reduce the risk of ill health from cadmium exposure. Blood sampling is carried out regularly to measure cadmium levels in the blood. The analysis is performed by an accredited laboratory and assessed by an occupational health physician in comparison with reference values.

Biological exposure controls for work involving cadmium must be arranged before the employee starts and be conducted at regular intervals of six months thereafter. This recurring monitoring can be rescheduled by a maximum of one month earlier or later.
